Participants from different sectors were present during the recent L & K (Linux and Kape) sessions. L & K is a monthly get-together sponsored by DabaweGNU that offers a venue for spreading technology to different sectors of the society. Its an informal discussion that aims to educate and spark interest among its participants to learn about specific technologies and how we can best benefit from it.
This month Neuraltech Innovations (George Tujan, Marloue Pidor) is taking the lead and discussed OSM, GPS/GIS. The discussion focused on the Open Street Map (OSM) project and how crow-sourced maps can benefit us. Location-based services based on OSM was presented and potential projects derived from OSM was discussed. We had a lot of interesting questions and we hoped we also made you guys interested enough to actually contribute and be part of the this amazing opensource project that aims to map the whole world!. Hope to setup another sessions with you guys.
